Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly analytical, and experienced Accountant to join our finance department. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial controls, tax compliance, and portfolio accounting within a lending or financial services environment.

Specific Skills
- Experience: 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a microfinance institution, commercial lending firm, or fintech company.

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and hands-on experience with modern accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP) and KRA iTax portal management.

Analytical Skills: Sharp numerical accuracy, strong analytical capabilities, and high attention to detail.

Integrity: Undoubted professional integrity with the ability to handle sensitive financial data with maximum confidentiality.
Responsible For

Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate general ledgers, process journal entries, and perform monthly bank and loan portfolio reconciliations.

Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee timely payments to suppliers, manage corporate expenses, and track disbursement and repayment entries against client accounts.

Tax Compliance: Prepare, file, and remit statutory deductions and taxes (including VAT, PAYE, WHT, and Corporate Tax) in strict accordance with Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) regulations.

Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to support executive decision-making.

Audit & Compliance Support: Prepare documentation and schedules for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local financial regulations.

Cash Flow Management: Monitor daily cash liquidity, manage petty cash operations, and optimize working capital.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting/Finance option), Business Administration, or a related field.

Professional Certifications: Fully qualified CPA-K or ACCA holder and a registered member of ICPAK (or equivalent body).
